San Diego has some amazing aviation history that you will appreciate: The 1st Military pilots trained in the world at North Island with the Curtis Flying school. North Island sent the first American aviators to war in Feb 1918. The first seaplane tested successfully here. Lindbergh flew out of the Dutch Flats which is now the Post Office near MCRD. Consolidated bombers produced here for WWII, and so much more.

Leather or canvas helmets are a MUST to wear, not just for the vintage look. In the open cockpit biplane, which means not in a closed canopy like most airplanes. You may have a little more wind and noise than inside normal aircraft but the trade off for the view is worth it.
